During an interview with USA Today, Microsoft’s Shannon Loftis who works as the general manager of Microsoft Studios, said that “any games we’re making that we’re launching in the Scorpio time frame, we’re making sure they can natively render at 4K.” This is a great comment by the general manager as it adds confidence to the company’s native 4K claims.
Many analysts and gaming media personality have questioned Microsoft’s claims that the Xbox Scorpio which features 6 TFLOPS of GPU performance can render games at native 4K. This is mostly due to the fact that Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro is considerably weaker than the former and features titles at 1440p resolution mostly. It’s great to know that games that will launch alongside Project Scorpio will be native 4K. That’s a considerable jump over the 1440p presentation people are expecting due to the PlayStation 4 Pro.
