A new Minecraft update on PC has added rocket-propelled elytra flight, allowing players to take flight and glide through the sky aided by fireworks.
The main purpose of the update, titled 1.11.1, is to fix various bugs, however Mojang added some new features as well, which can be read below.
• Added rocket-propelled elytra flight
• Added Iron Nuggets
• Added Sweeping Edge enchantment for swords
• Changed the attack indicator to hint when you should attack
The biggest addition has to be rocket-propelled elytra flight, which now allows players to use fireworks to help them along. The elytra was added in a previous update.
As with most Minecraft updates, this came to the PC version first, although that doesn’t mean we’ll never see it on consoles. Minecraft on consoles has been steadily attempting to catch up to the PC version through a number of updates, so we could see rocket-propelled elytra flight on consoles in the future.
