I literally don’t know anyone who wouldn’t be excited for this. Sony Pictures Entertainment and SEGA’s Marza Animation Planet had announced that the project was in development in Summer of 2014. However, after that, they kept their cards very close to their chests up until now.
The wait for new info is now over, because in an interview with SEGA CEO, Hajime Satomi at WorldFolio, he confirmed that the movie is in fact expected to be arriving to the big screen in 2018. Satomi also stated that “We would like to expand our business into other entertainment areas beyond what we are currently involved”.
This makes me VERY hyped up. When most old-school gamers think of games, they think of Sonic the Hedgehog, so I think it’s safe to say that there are many people around the world that can’t wait to watch it many, many times.
