Writer Matt Forbeck has written a Halo novel named Halo: New Blood. Of course, the book is set in the Halo Universe and follows Gunnery Sergeant Edward Buck, the Buckmeister. It is set after the events of Halo 3: ODST, when the UNSC offers him the chance to join the Spartan IV Program.
Matt first started writing this novel in Spring of 2014, and was released digitally on March 2nd, 2015 but a physical edition will arrive on the 15th of next month. The book has also been confirmed to be 200 pages long, meaning that although it should cover a lot, it won’t take too long to finish.
As a huge Halo fan, I have always been interested in the whole universe, not just in the games, but in the books also. I will definitely pick this up and give it a read. It will also be interesting to read about Buck’s mindset after the events of ODST, and how he eventually becomes the character we know and love in Halo 5: Guardians.
