Codemasters announce Overlord: Fellowship of Evil

Beware minions, for the overlord is coming. Or rather, four overlords are coming. Overlord: Fellowship of Evil brings an interesting spin on an enjoyable franchise, developers Codemasters have revealed. Changing the way the game is played, this new entrant into the Overlord series lets the player take control of a ‘Netherghūl’ to further the interests of evil. Also included in the changes are a top down view and the ability to have three of your friends playing alongside you.

Codemasters executive producer Rob Elser had this to say: “We really wanted to do something that would allow us be evil alongside our friends, instead of the normal heroics in every other game. The idea of playing as a team of bad guys commanding Minions to do our utmost bidding, while also causing chaos for each other, just really made us smile. And as you know, an Overlord game never takes itself too seriously.”

Whilst there are heavy elements of change for this Overlord game, some things remain the same, with writer Rhianna Pratchett reprising her role as scriptwriter, and with Marc Silk returning as the venerable Gnarl. Fans of the franchise will be eager to get their claws on this game.

Overlord: Fellowship of Evil is due for release digitally during 2015 on Xbox One and Windows for £14.99, $19.99 or €19.99. See you soon minions!
