You may have heard of last year’s Xbox Live hacking, which involved hacking group Lizard Squad taking down Xbox Live on Christmas. It enraged many gamers who had just received their new consoles as presents, and it may occur again.
Phantom Squad, a group of hackers tweeted that they would be shutting down Xbox Live and PSN on Christmas this year and keeping the networks down for over a week.
You might wonder why they are doing this, in a later tweet they stated that they are taking down the services because “cyber security does not exist.”
I believe that this warning could lead to Microsoft and Sony preparing for the hack and potentially stopping it. But the threats may turn out to be a hoax. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below.
