EA Access members can finally play their first backward compatible game and it’s…wait for it…the original Plants vs. Zombies. Yes, the title that started it all is back and it’s now free on Xbox One if you’re an EA Access subscriber. The announcement was made through the official EA Access account on Twitter an hour ago.

I remember playing Plants vs. Zombies when it first came out on my phone. Then, I got it on my computer and then, on my Xbox 360. When it became backward compatible a few months ago, I downloaded it on my Xbox One and have been playing it regularly since. It’s just so much fun. I’m glad EA Access members can get access to, what I consider, a modern classic at no additional charge. The value of the service is going up tremendously and titles like Mass Effect and Mirror’s Edge should be available for free as well because this seems to be a trend. EA is slowly becoming one of my favorite companies. Can you believe they were despised a few years ago? The management has really turned it around for the better.
