ReCore might be one of the biggest surprises to come out of the conference. No one expected it and no one expected it to be a collaboration between Microsoft and two legendary developers. The iconic Mega Man designer Keiji Inafune and veteran Metroid Prime director Mark Pacini are bringing ReCore, a new franchise, exclusively to Xbox One.
The game promises to be an action-adventure experience unlike any other. All we know so far is that the game features a female protagonist and a robot companion who can take on various forms by inserting its core into other machines. The two transverse an arid landscape in a desperate attempt to save humanity from extinction. The concept is intriguing and the removing-and-inserting core mechanic is rather unique. During an interview with Polygon, Inafune stated that they would share more about the title at Gamescom in August. We cannot wait to learn more about this collaboration. The fact that Inafune and Pacini are working on it together is just increadible. It will surely be an amazing experience going by the quality of games the two have produced in the past.
