Microsoft’s Project Scorpio launches sometime this fall and while we haven’t seen much in terms of games or hardware, the response from developers and Microsoft’s public messages about the development of the upcoming console are encouraging. In a tweet from Xbox head Phil Spencer regarding the development of Scorpio he said, “Absolutely (we are happy with the development of Scorpio), great that our first party teams are getting engines up and tuned, great progress across, platform and hw.”
Since its announcement we’ve heard nothing but positivity from developers—as well as Microsoft themselves but self-promotion is hardly a thing to be hyped for. Hopefully, Scorpio turns out to be the next big leap for Microsoft that we’re all waiting for but we’ll have to wait until fall to find out. I think it will given how it boasts 6 TFLOPS of GPU performance.
