The Technomancer is a new post-apocalyptic role-playing game set in a cyberpunk world developed by Spiders. The title is set on Mars during the War of Water, where an aspiring Technomancer faces a myriad of questions, as his future grows threatened by the secrets of his past. Sounds intriguing, doesn’t it? The game looks fantastic.
In an interview with Spiders’ head Jehanne Rousseau, new details about the title’s technical performance came to light. The Xbox One’s upcoming SDK update unlocks access to a seventh CPU core that developers can use to improve the performance of their games.
When asked about the hot topic of resolution and frame rate for the upcoming title, Rousseau stated that title ran at the same resolution and frame rate on both next-generation consoles. Rousseau said, “For a role-playing game like The Technomancer, we preferred to achieve the best graphic quality, so we decided to stick to 1080p and 30 FPS on PS4 and Xbox One. The 60 FPS is a very interesting technical challenge, but concentrating our efforts on it would not be reasonable for us, and there would have been too many sacrifices to do on the game.”
It’s good to know that developers will use the latest Xbox One SDK to address the concern many gamers have. Hopefully this resolution debate will end soon so we can focus on more important aspects like story and gameplay. You can check out some of the game’s screenshots below.
