Sega and Game Freak have officially announced Tembo The Badass Elephant for Xbox One. Temba The Badass Elephant is side-scrolling action platformer that will be available this summer as a digital download.
James Turner from Game Freak, the person who brought you the cute and cuddly Pokemon games, has unveiled Tembo The Badass Elephant, his own personal project. It looks insane. Check out the reveal trailer below.
James Turner told IGN, “Tembo is an Asian elephant whose best friend is a military general. The general needs Tembo’s help to defeat the mysterious force known as Phantom and he comes to his aid without a second thought”.
The game is heavily inspired by Donkey Kong as Turner mentions, “You know in Donkey Kong Country when you’re on the back of Rambi the Rhino? That’s what we wanted Tembo to feel like.”
Tembo has an array of different attacks at his disposal like a wrecking ball style attack, a charge attack and a sliding kick. These moves are used to destroy enemies, buildings and vehicles to rack of up combos that earn Tembo points to unlock new levels.
