Xbox One emerges as best-selling console for second half of 2016

While the PlayStation 4 was the top-selling console in December, Microsoft said that it was Xbox One’s biggest month ever and that the console was the only one which showed year-over-year growth from last year. PlayStation 4 sold more in December 2015 than December 2016. Microsoft also said that the Xbox One was the best-selling console for the second half of 2016 if you combine sales from I imagine the last six month.

Apart from that Microsoft said, “In November and December we saw Xbox Live engagement reach an all-time high of 3.9 billion hours, up 23% compared to 2015 driven by fan excitement for the greatest games lineup. Looking ahead, we expect 2017 to be a special year for gamers thanks to the upcoming launch of the most powerful console ever in Project Scorpio and a terrific portfolio of new games with Xbox Live support on Xbox One, Windows 10, or both.”

This is great news for Xbox One owners and what’s important to note here is that Xbox One sales are growing year-over-year unlike the competition. The Xbox One should also get some unique experiences which won’t be available on Windows 10 from the last sentence in the statement. I can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store for our favorite console.
