Update: Minecraft on Android also supports Xbox achievements. The Kindle Fire version and Gear VR version also got achievements.
According to Mike Ybarra’s Xbox account, you can earn Xbox achievements on the iOS version of Minecraft which works on iPhone and iPad. This is definitely great news for people like me who play that game but want it to reflect on their gamerscore.
Are you excited about this feature? I sure am. I’m glad Microsoft is embracing an open approach to gaming because that’s the only way the Xbox brand will grow and continue to prosper. It’ll also get more people interested in the console because the gamerscore addiction is quite real. It’s part of your gaming identity and many wear it with pride.
