Those fans who were hoping that the rumours of an Xbox One mini were true will be disappointed today as head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, quashed the rumour when replying to a fan on twitter.
@av_xz Not real.

Although the rumour has been put to bed for now, don’t be surprised if it reappears in the near future. With games seemingly heading towards an all digital format, a cheaper, smaller Xbox with no disc drive might be something that Microsoft might not be able to ignore if fans demand it.
I think that Microsoft will release a slimmer Xbox One with a disc drive next year at E3. It will be a redesign of the standard model and might include even more storage. After that, maybe during next year’s conference, the company will probably release a digital only Xbox One for select markets that have the internet capabilities.
