Today, Rare told us about GoldenEye 007 and the sequel they wanted to make. We all know that the sequel didn’t happen and Rare put out Perfect Dark instead. The actual GoldenEye 007 sequel was made by some other studio and turned out to be a PlayStation exclusive which was poorly received by gamers and critics alike. I don’t think Tomorrow Never Dies even had multiplayer, but don’t quote me on that.
According to Rare developers, the studio was outbid on doing an adaptation of Tomorrow Never Dies. Luckily that allowed Rare to develop a new concept featuring a female protagonist and awesome weaponry. Perfect Dark was awesome. It’s always interesting to hear how certain games ended up being developed. I can’t wait to see future Rare Revealed videos and discover other hidden facts.
