Minecraft coming to Oculus Rift as well as HoloLens

We already knew that Minecraft was coming to Microsoft’s Hololens device, bringing 3D worlds into our own via augmented reality, but there had been no official statement concerning the game’s inevitable arrival on other kinds of VR headsets. That changed today when co-founder of the device, Palmer Luckey, announced that Minecraft would be arriving on the Oculus Rift headset at some point in 2016.

This went together with the announcement that Oculus was almost ready for primetime and headed to Windows 10 devices with the “Oculus Ready” program – a partnership with PC makers to ship special computer bundles that are specifically intended for use with the headset.

It was also revealed that Netflix and Twitch, along with many other major video broadcasters, are coming to the Oculus in the near future.

These announcements were made at the Oculus Connect 2 conference in Los Angeles, with more details of them expected in the coming weeks.
