According to Xbox marketing director Harvey Eagle, 2016 will be remembered in gaming circles as a tipping point in the Xbox One’s history. Speaking to gamesindustry.biz, he said, “Momentum is really important in this business, because it gives confidence to retailers, publishers, and to consumers. We are giving them confidence that they have made a right point. I think we’ll look back on 2016 as a tipping point for Xbox One.”
Microsoft must sustain and build on the momentum from 2016 by releasing great games and other hardware in 2017. For example, in the beginning of the year we have games like Halo Wars 2 and Sea of Thieves. Project Scorpio should also help propel sales. It’s definitely looking good for Microsoft. Remember, they’ve been outselling the PlayStation 4 in NPD rankings for months now and they’ve also been beating Sony abroad. Let’s hope this continues.
