While the final pieces are falling into place for the remaster of Xbox 360 hit, Gears of War, Microsoft have released a reimagining of the original marketing trailer, ‘Mad World’. The recreation of this trailer is not only a great nod to fans of the original, as it also expands on the main goal of this project, to recreate the first Gears of War experience for the current generation of consoles.
The trailer begins with an accurate representation of the first edition of this trailer, with many clips being recreations of those in the 2006 version. Sadly, the trailer does diverge soon afterwards, but the original atmosphere is still present in the video. Unlike the original, the trailer can be viewed in full HD, and showcases the gorgeous environments we can expect in Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.
