Creative Assembly’s upcoming sequel to Halo Wars looks to be shaping up quite nicely, although the initial beta did leave us a bit unimpressed. Thankfully, the team behind Halo Wars 2 are hard at work on creating a great experience for both returning and new players of the series. Studio Head of 343 Industries, Dan Ayoub, has teased that Halo Wars 2 will feature a new innovative game mode that RTS players won’t be used to.
During a panel at PAX West, Ayoub said, “One of the modes, which I can only tease for the time being, is actually a completely new way to play an RTS. It really takes standard RTS gameplay and turns it on its head. And that’s a mode that can be played in a shorter time frame as well, like five, six, seven minutes.”
No more details have been released about this new mode, however, although 343 and Creative Assembly do seem to be working their creative juices to the max when it comes to reinventing the standard Halo Wars gameplay. Tell us what you think in the comments below.
