Microsoft ready for cross-play on other games

With Rocket League being the first to cross-play between Xbox One, PC, and PS4 we were wondering how willing Microsoft would be to do this in the future and apparently the answer is very. In a recent interview with Gamespot, ID@Xbox Europe boss Agostino Simonetta, said that they are ready to cross-play with anyone and that it is up to the developers to decide if they would like too. When asked if the technology was in place Agostino said “Absolutely, we’re ready. Rocket League is the first game, and it is a heavily network-orientated game.” He also stated that they have asked multiple networks including Playstation and could only say that they are ready for anyone that would like to take part.

This is awesome news as it will start bridging that player gap between Xbox and Playstation. We will have to wait and see how exactly this will pan out between Microsoft and Sony but I am hopeful for the future.
