Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and more listings suggest backward compatibility

Update: Larry Hryb said the listing was made in error but I think it’s coming to backward compatibility soon. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was also listed as backward compatible. Could this mean that both games are coming? There’s no reason the artwork was modified over at Microsoft if someone wasn’t given information about their future backward compatibility.

A Twitter going by the handle @GamerTagstic has spotted that the current art for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is not labeled with the recently added “Plays on Xbox One” branding for backward compatible titles.

The entirety of the Call of Duty series is highly requested on Microsoft’s feedback forums but so far only Call of Duty 2, 3 and Black Ops have become available through Xbox’s backward compatibility program. While there has been no word from Xbox, Major Nelson or even Industry Insider ekim (who usually confirms these kinds of rumors), this new art does heavily suggest Modern Warfare 3 arriving in a backward compatible form sometime soon.
