On numerous occasions Satya Nadella has said that gaming and Xbox Live are one of their most important services because it focuses on entertainment and creativity.

Phil Spencer wants the Xbox One period to be their best generation. He even went on to talk about how he believes we’ll get another console down the line when this generation is over. Xbox and gaming are now cornerstones for Microsoft and the brand is here to stay.
