The first trailer for Mafia III has been released today, after being teased last week. The trailer gives few details regarding the game itself, however we now know the general setup for the title. Mafia III will be set in a reimagined version of New Orleans, and while not an accurate representation of the city, will hold noticeable similarities. The main protagonist, Lincoln Clay will lead the storyline, while he aims to take revenge on Italian gangsters, who have killed his family. As he was orphaned at a young age, he now seeks his biological parents. Clay returns to New Orleans after serving in Vietnam, and attempts to assemble a group to take on the mobsters.
Mafia III will not be developed by the team who brought us Mafia II, 2K Czech. Hangar 13 have now taken the reigns, and will deliver Mafia III in 2016, alongside publisher 2K Games.
After the reveal, GameSpot spent a small amount of time hands-on with the title. Alongside this, we have received a small library of gameplay clips and screenshots.
